In the dairy industry evaporation processes play a major role.

Concentration of milk products as condensed milk or as preperation for instantisation (spray drying) of whole milk, skimmed milk, milk formulations and milk based products are the major energy consumers in the dairy. Concentration of whey and whey protein or lactose refinement are also applications for evaporation technologies.

Finaly waste water streams are possible to be seperated into condensate to be used as process water and a highly concentrated fraction that can be economically disposed or burned in a boiler co-combustion process. Intelligent systems achieve nothing more than the water free dairy with lowest possible primary energy consumption.
